Configuring MFA to use RDP in VDI (cloud.tccd.edu)

This Article is to guide faculty and staff on configuring MFA to be used with secure RDP in VDI ( cloud.tccd.edu).

  1. Open a web browser (chrome, firefox, or edge).
  2. In the address bar type office.com and press the enter key.
  3. Type the  _a or _v account you have been provided. EX: First.lastname_V@tccd.edu. Click sign in after typing the email.

4. Enter the password.

5. The office home page should be displayed as is shown below. Click on the initials in the top right and click View account.

6. Click Security Info on the left menu pane.

7. If Microsoft Authenticator is listed and Microsoft Authenticator is NOT the default sign-in method, please change to this method by clicking change on the Microsoft Authenticator row. Once Microsoft Authenticator is the default sign-in method. The authenticator is set up for VDI.

8. If Microsoft Authenticator is not listed. Click Add sign-in method.

9. Select Authenticator app from the drop-down menu.

10. Download the Microsoft Authenticator app from Google play or the apple app store and click next. 

11. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the setup.

12. Scan the QR code on the screen using the Microsoft Authenticator and follow any directions from Microsoft Authenticator app.

13. The authenticator has now been configured for the _a or _v account.
