The process for requesting and installing applications through Microsoft Teams.
Searching for an App
- Click the Apps button in Teams

- You can search by category or the search bar

Statuses
- Open - approved and already installed application
- Add - approved application but not installed
- Request - not an approved application and must require IT Approval

Requesting an App
- To request an app, it will need to be reviewed and approved by IT Cloud Services
- Microsoft will list all its applications in TEAMS; however, Microsoft does not support some of its apps.
- Example: Bookings– it is an app, however, Microsoft does not give support to Bookings, so there isn’t help if there is a problem
- If approved, the IT Business Administration office will work with Cloud Services to approve the application for installation
- The TEAMS apps and Office 365 apps do not require admin approval to install as they have been made available via Cloud services Office 365 admin center. TEAMS apps and Office 365 apps don't come from the Company portal
AI Apps
For AI applications, the decision rests with each department to assess whether and which AI tools may be employed by students and employees in their studies and work. The college adheres to a practice prohibiting the input of non-directory information into AI tools to safeguard private, confidential, and proprietary data. Additionally, the college does not cover expenses for individual or group licenses or subscriptions; rather, individuals are responsible for acquiring and paying for any approved tools they choose to use. So, if their supervisor approves it, there is no risk to our input of non-directory, private, confidential, or proprietary data, and there is no cost then an app is ok to install.
Updates
If an App needs an update, a notification will appear in the lower left-hand side of the screen next to the Manage your apps
