Receiving Library Items with Status "In Process" at DRCM

Instructions, Steps, or Information

While an item is being cataloged and prepared at DRCM, the process type will indicate that it is in process within Acquisition technical services. When items are ready to be sent to the owning library, they are scanned out of the location as "done" and are put into a work order status of "In Transit" for reshelving at the owning location. Occasionally, items will get processed at DRCM (labels added and boxed up) and sent to the libraries to be shelved without the items having been scanned out of DRCM.

If a library receives items that were not properly scanned out of DRCM, this can be corrected without having to return to the items to DRCM.

Steps to take:

1. Create a spreadsheet of the barcodes only

2. Send the spreadsheet to the cataloger for your campus at DRCM

3. The cataloger will then rescan the items so they show "In Transit" to the owning library

4. The library can then rescan the items in place
