How To...
This Article explains how to use the Evaluation feature in Portfolios.
Steps to Implement
- In Global Navigation, click Portfolio. In the Evaluation tab, choose Create Evaluation Portfolio.
- Choose your course and click Select at the bottom right. All enrolled students are automatically assigned to the portfolio.
- Add a clear title and instructions for students, then save the portfolio as a draft.
- Click Add Requirement below the Instructions window. Choose Add assignment from course for Canvas work such as essays, projects, or discussions, or choose Create New Requirement for items such as fieldwork, reflections, or professional artifacts. Click the blue Create button to save a new requirement.
- Click Add section, name the section, select the items for that section, and click the blue Add section button. The script gives examples such as unit, milestone, or competency.
- When all requirements are set, click Publish Portfolio. Students will see it under Portfolio in Global Navigation, not in course modules. Once published, you cannot make changes.
- Open the portfolio and select a student. Review each requirement, mark it Complete or Not Complete, and provide feedback. If a requirement is tied to a Canvas assignment, grade it in SpeedGrader.
