Login to WebEx

  1. Open the WebEx application on your device.
  2. If you are not automatically signed in, enter your username and click Sign In.

How to Make a Call in WebEx

  1. In the left-hand menu, click the Phone icon (it might appear as a dialpad or phone call button depending on your version).
  • You’ll see a dial pad, search bar, and contact list.

  1. Dial the Phone Number:

    • On the dial pad, enter the phone number of the person you want to call.
    • For external calls, Dial 9 first plus the full number Example: 918174441234
    • For Internal calls, Dial the person's 5 digit extension Example: 51234
    • If you have the contact saved, you can search for the name by typing it into the Search bar at the top of the screen.

  1. Click on the Call Button:

    • Once you've entered the phone number or selected the contact, click the Call button green phone icon.

    • Wait for the call to connect. You will see a notification when the other party answers.

How to Answer a Call

  1. Incoming Call Notification:
    • When someone calls you, a notification will appear on your screen with the caller’s information (if available).
  2. Answer the Call:
    • To answer, click the Answer button (usually a green phone icon).
  3. Start Talking:
    • Once the call is connected, you can start your conversation.

How to Transfer a Call

  1. During an Active Call:
    • While on an active call, look for the Transfer button, often shown with an arrow or as the word “Transfer” in your WebEx interface.
  2. Select Transfer Option:
    • Click the Transfer button. You will have the option to transfer to:
      • A contact: Search for the contact by name or number.
      • A different phone number: Dial a new number to transfer the call.
  3. Complete the Transfer:
    • After selecting the destination for the transfer, click the Transfer Now button to complete the transfer.

How to Hold and Resume a Call

Placing a Call on Hold

  1. During an Active Call:
    • While in the call, look for the Hold button, which is often represented by a pause icon (two vertical bars).
  2. Click the Hold Button:
    • Click the Hold button to place the call on hold. The person on the other end of the line will hear hold music or a message notifying them they are on hold.

Resuming a Call from Hold

  1. During an Active Call (on Hold):

    • To resume the call, click the Resume button (often represented by a play icon).
  2. Continue the Conversation:

    • Once you click Resume, the call will be restored, and you can continue talking.

Additional Call Functions

Mute or Unmute a Call

  • Mute: During the call, you can mute your microphone by clicking the Mute button (usually represented by a microphone icon with a line through it).
  • Unmute: Click the Unmute button to start speaking again.

End the Call

  • End Call: When you’re ready to hang up, click the End Call button (usually represented by a red phone icon).
