How To...
Recover unsaved Microsoft Word documents from an unexpected Restart or Crash. (And possibly for Excel and PowerPoint )
Steps To Implement
- In the “Type here to search” located at the bottom right (or by hitting the Windows Key) type %appdata%.
- While in the Roaming Folder go to the folder labeled "Microsoft"
- Next, click on the Folder labeled "Word."
Here you will see either Documents or Folders containing documents that may have been unsaved.
For Example I have a Folder “Knowledge%20Article…”. If I click into this Folder, we can see that there is an unsaved document I can open.
Alternate Solution
Check A Different File Location seen as: C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Office\UnsavedFiles
